With over 23 years of martial arts experience both in Canada and Internationally, Master Tene started with martial arts in Cameroon with Karate Shotokan and learned from his uncles (both 3th and 4th Dan Black belt) from 1987 to 1990.
He started learning Taekwondo in 1994 in Douala – Cameroon (Community center of Nylon) where he learned through Grand Master and pioneer on Taekwondo in Cameroon – Grand Master Atoua Mamat.
In 1997, Master Tene’s talent was discovered by a member of Canadian Taekwondo Team and World Champion Master Eteki Wilfried (who was vacationing in Cameroon) and Master learned from him all the competition aspects of Taekwondo (Elite Taekwondo Montreal).
Master Tene’s achievements:
• Former member of Cameroon National Taekwondo Team
• 1997 Cameroon Welter Weight National Vice-Champion
• 4 years Provincial Trainer for the South-West Province of Cameroon (1997-2001)
• General Secretary of Taekwondo in Littoral Region (Cameroon) for 4 years
• 2001 Cameroon Welter Weight National Champion
• Award of recognition for extraordinary contribution to the 38th National Youth Tournament (Cameroon), given by the university of Douala (Feb 7th, 2004)
• Former Head Instructor of Taekwondo at the University of Douala in Cameroon (2003-2010)
• Senior Taekwondo Instructor and coach since 2011 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
• 2014 Alberta Provincial Bronze medallist (patterns)
